Kriens-Lucerne has to bow out of the Cup early. The defending champions were defeated 30:37 by Pfadi Winterthur in the round of 16.
It was the second defeat in five days for the Central Swiss side following their 32:35 loss to champions Kadetten Schaffhausen during the week. Meanwhile, Winterthur is in impressive form and celebrated its tenth win in a row in all competitions.
In May, Kriens-Luzern won the Cup for the second time since 2023. Their opponents at the time, Thun, have also already been eliminated. The team from the Bernese Oberland lost 35:36 to St. Otmar St. Gallen in front of a home crowd after extra time on Saturday.
