Demi Vollering dominated the women's race at Liège-Bastogne-Liège just as confidently as Tadej Pogacar in the men's race.
The Dutchwoman, who lives in Switzerland, won the 10th edition of the Ardennes classic after an impressive solo ride over 35 km. With a lead of almost one and a half minutes over her second-placed compatriot Puck Pieterse, the European champion celebrated her third victory in Liège and is now the sole record holder.
Vollering's teammate Elise Chabbey was among the first to congratulate her. The Geneva native underlined her strong form and finished in an excellent seventh place, just under two minutes behind the leader.
