For Ditaji Kambundji, the choice was a logical first. The 23-year-old from Bern can look back on an outstanding season. The crowning glory was the World Championship title in the 100 m hurdles in Tokyo in mid-September. In the final, she improved her own Swiss record by 16 hundredths to 12.24 seconds, which is the second-best time by a European in history. She won European Championship gold and World Championship silver in the 60 m hurdles indoors.

While Ditaji Kambundji was named Swiss Athlete of the Year for the first time, Simon Ehammer received this award for the fourth time after 2020, 2022 and 2024. The 25-year-old from Appenzell secured silver in the heptathlon at the European Indoor Championships and won the Diamond League final in the long jump in Zurich for the second time since 2023.

Florian Clivaz was voted Coach of the Year for the second time in a row. Alongside Ditaji Kambundji, the 31-year-old from Valais also led his pregnant partner Mujinga Kambundji to a world championship title this year. In March, the 33-year-old won World Championship gold in the 60m indoors for the second time since 2022.

Jacky Delapierre received the Swiss Athletics Award, which is presented to individuals who have made a name for themselves with their exceptional commitment to Swiss athletics. The 73-year-old from Vaud is the founder of Athletissima Lausanne, which has been one of the best meetings in the world for many years and was held for the 50th time in August this year.
