The Swiss women remain unbeaten after eight games at the World Curling Championships in Uijeongbu, South Korea. The team led by skip Silvana Tirinzoni won 8:4 against Norway after an even start.
For a long time, the two teams were evenly matched. The Swiss quartet of Selina Witschonke, Carole Howald, Tirinzoni and Alina Pätz took the lead, but the Scandinavians followed suit. Until the quartet from CC Aarau was able to steal a stone in the seventh end and credit themselves with a house of three in the ninth end. Faced with a hopeless starting position, the Norwegians gave up. The Swiss won their eighth game in eight.
On Thursday, the Swiss quartet will continue against third-placed Canada and Lithuania, who are still winless, before concluding the round robin on Friday with matches against Sweden and Denmark.
