Florida defenseman Aaron Ekblad will be suspended 20 games by the NHL for a positive doping test.
"I made a mistake by taking something to help me recover faster from my recent injuries without talking to the appropriate doctor and team personnel first," the 29-year-old didn't look for excuses.
As a result, Ekblad, who suffered a lower-body injury in January, will not be available to the defending champions until the third game of the playoffs. If he commits another offense, he will be sidelined for 60 games; if he commits a third, he will be sidelined forever.
