Unlike the 2022 festival in Pratteln, the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF) in Mollis GL at the end of August closed with a positive financial result. According to the organizers, the goal of breaking even was achieved.

The organizing committee did not specify the exact amount of the profit in a press release on Friday. However, the high income was sufficient to compensate the helpers with 25 francs per hour instead of the budgeted 8 francs.

According to the press release, 190 OC members and around 9,000 helpers benefited from this additional sum. The helpers worked a total of 120,000 volunteer hours. If these hours are multiplied by the additional amount of 17 francs paid out, the actual profit is likely to have exceeded the two million mark.

The budget for the major event had to be increased by several million in the run-up to the event - partly due to additional requirements imposed by the authorities. The organizers never revealed exactly how high the budget was in the end.

Glarnerland welcomed over half a million guests to the festival grounds during the wrestling festival from August 29 to 31 and in the days leading up to it. The sporting event, which takes place every three years, ended with Armon Orlik's triumph. After two days of competition, the man from Maienfeld in the canton of Graubünden was proclaimed king of wrestling.

The "Eidgenössische" three years earlier in Pratteln BL had ended with a loss of 3.8 million francs. It was only thanks to the generosity of suppliers and partners and, in the end, anonymous donations from private individuals that all bills were paid and a "black zero" was officially reported.
