The Swiss beach volleyball players remain unblemished in Paris. After Tanja Hüberli/Nina Brunner, Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépré also win their second preliminary round match.
The Olympic debutants Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépré impressed once again against a well-known duo. After beating the Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes/Brandie Wilkerson 21:18, 13:21, 15:11, the 24-year-old from Lucerne and the 26-year-old from Bern have an excellent chance of advancing to the round of 16 as group winners. They will play their last preliminary round match on Saturday against the still winless Guiliana Poletti/Michelle Valiente from Paraguay.
As against the Latvians Tina Graudina/Anastasija Samoilova, Esmée/Zoé, as the team is officially known, impressed with their ease and enthusiasm. Under the glittering Eiffel Tower, they did not allow themselves to be rattled by losing the second set and never trailed in the tie-break.
