EV Zug celebrates an easy 7-1 win against bottom team Ajoie in the National League.
Zug have had a mixed start to the season and have already lost six times. Dan Tangnes' team never had to seriously fear that a seventh defeat would come against Ajoie on Wednesday evening. Three goals in each of the first two periods ensured that the home team had a clear advantage in the Zug Arena. Dario Simion opened the scoring in the fourth minute. When the Ticino native scored his second personal goal in the 35th minute, it was already 6:0 for EVZ.
The team from central Switzerland scored three goals in the power play. Lino Martschini and Attilio Biasca took advantage of a double overtime in the 33rd minute to score two goals within 11 seconds. In the final period, Ajoie, who suffered their tenth defeat in their eleventh game of the season, replaced goalkeeper Benjamin Conz with Damiano Ciaccio and changed all their lines. However, Christian Wohlwend's team were unable to score more than a consolation goal through Julius Nättinen.
