For Fernandez, it was his first victory in the premier class in the 76th race. The 24-year-old Aprilia rider took advantage of the moment and left all the other riders behind in the absence of the injured world champion Marc Marquez. Di Giannantonio finished 1.4 seconds behind the winner.

Bezzecchi, who won the sprint on Saturday, took the podium despite a penalty in the form of a double "long lap", which he had to complete during the race. Spaniard Alex Marquez, second in the riders' standings, finished just behind Bezzecchi in 4th place.

For the first time since the 2023 Catalan GP, two Aprilia riders finished on the podium of a MotoGP race.

In the Moto3 race, Noah Dettwiler also failed to finish in the points in the 19th race of the season. The Swiss rider finished in 23rd place, with newly crowned Spanish world champion Jose Antonio Rueda winning for the tenth time this season.
