It has been clear for a few days now that the Kings and Oilers, the Pacific Division's No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, will meet in the opening game of the knockout phase. In Tuesday night's game, Los Angeles secured second place two rounds before the end of the regular season.
Fiala, twice a two-goal scorer of late, was once again in dazzling form. The St. Gallen native scored his 35th goal and caught up with Nico Hischier in the ranking of Swiss NHL goal scorers.
