Kevin Fiala is the only Swiss player in the NHL to score for the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday evening local time. Meanwhile, the Devils with a Swiss trio celebrate their eighth win in a row.
In the 3-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks, Fiala scored the goal for a 2-1 lead in the middle period. The Kings are thus celebrating their fifth points win in a row.
In addition to Fiala, Timo Meier for the New Jersey Devils and Philipp Kurashev from the San Jose Sharks also scored.
Meier set up Arseny Gritsyuk's goal for a 1-0 lead against the Colorado Avalanche. In the end, the Devils, who also had Switzerland's Nico Hischier and Jonas Siegenthaler on the ice, won the game 4-3 in overtime. It is the Devils' eighth triumph in a row.
The San Jose Sharks also recorded a win after overtime. Kurashev got the puck after 11:15 minutes and helped William Eklund to score to make it 3-2 in the meantime. The final result was a 6-5 win against the Minnesota Wild.
Lian Bichsel celebrated a 3-2 win with the Dallas Stars against the Nashville Predators. The Predators will have to do without their captain, Roman Josi from Bern, for a few weeks due to an upper-body injury.
Nino Niederreiter, on the other hand, was not victorious. He lost 3-2 with the Winnipeg Jets against Utah Mammoth. Janis Moser also won 2:1 with the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Vegas Golden Knights. Akira Schmid was only the backup goalie for the Knights.
