Kevin Fiala ends a five-game drought on Friday night. The Swiss forward scored in his Los Angeles Kings' 5-1 win at the Vancouver Canucks.

The Kings returned to winning ways after two defeats. Fiala scored twice in the process. The native of eastern Switzerland made the decisive pass for the visitors' second goal and scored the fourth goal himself on the power play. It was the 28-year-old's 15th goal and ninth assist of the season.

Nico Hischier had an even better haul. The captain of the New Jersey Devils scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season in the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs and added 17 assists. Despite the Wallisian's overtime goals, an assist from Timo Meier and a three-goal lead, the visitors were beaten 3:4 in overtime. It was the seventh defeat in the last nine games for the Devils, who were overtaken by their opponents in the table and slipped to third place.

The Nashville Predators are in other regions of the table. The team with Swiss captain Roman Josi, which was highly rated at the start of the season, is a long way off the play-off places. The 3:2 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks did nothing to change this, especially as it was only achieved in a penalty shoot-out. While Josi was on the ice for more than half an hour and recorded his 22nd assist, Philipp Kurashev was once again missing in action for the Blackhawks.

The Winnipeg Jets landed another victory, consolidating their top position in the West with a 2:1 win against the Seattle Kraken. It was the third success in a row for the team with Nino Niederreiter, who remained scoreless.
