Filippo Lombardi is leaving the Board of Directors of HC Ambri-Piotta, as the club announced on Thursday.
Former member of the Council of States Filippo Lombardi had already resigned as president in October after coach Luca Cereda and team manager Paolo Duca felt betrayed by Lombardi and left Ambri.
Lombardi is now leaving the Board of Directors "to allow for a renewal that is deemed necessary by the company and its main shareholders", as the club writes. However, he could still remain at Ambri. The board of directors will propose Lombardi as honorary president with special duties for the HCAP Group at an extraordinary general meeting on February 8.
The Board of Directors is also to be expanded at this General Assembly. It currently consists of only four members instead of five to nine as stipulated in the articles of association.
