Final stage and overall classification to Jan Christen

Christen crossed the finish line solo after 164 km and distanced the South African Byron Munton by eleven seconds and a group around his Spanish team-mate Igor Arrieta by just over half a minute in the final stage of the tour through Saudi Arabia.

In the overall classification, Christen made a leap from 14th place to the top. In the end, the Aargau native from Team UAE Emirates was 15 seconds ahead of Colombian Sergio Higuita and celebrated winning an overall classification for the first time in his career. Christen's compatriot Yannis Voisard finished in 6th place in the final standings. Before the final stage, the 27-year-old was still leading the overall classification.
