Nina Brunner (baby break) and Tanja Hüberli (injury break) played a tournament together again for the first time after a year out. The 2024 Olympic bronze medallists performed excellently: Cruz/Brasher had won the first major tournament of the new season in March; the two Americans are also top of the world rankings.
Nevertheless, Brunner/Hüberli sniffed victory: they overcame a sleepy start and led 9:6 in the deciding set.
Brunner/Hüberli won the match for third place against the Brazilians Carol/Rebecca 22:20, 21:11.
