Domen Prevc, the dominator of the Four Hills Tournament, is also in a class of his own at the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf. After four rounds, he has a lead of 50 meters or more over the competition.

The Slovenian dominated his opponents at will, although the jury sent him down the Heini-Klopfer hill with significantly less inrun each time. He won the third World Championship title for his country after Robert Kranjec won in Vikersund in 2012 and his brother Peter Prevc won on the Kulm in 2016.

Switzerland has also celebrated three World Championship titles. Walter Steiner triumphed in 1972 and 1977, Simon Ammann did the same in 2010. This year, however, the Swiss team put in a disappointing performance in the Allgäu. Felix Trunz and Simon Ammann, who are still fighting for the last Olympic ticket, had already failed to make the top 30 cut on Friday. And Sandro Hauswirth and Gregor Deschwanden were not much better placed on Saturday evening after four jumps in 26th and 30th position.

The team competition is still on the program on Sunday.
