Leaders Thun did their duty in the 30th round of the Challenge League and won 2-0 in Nyon without shining. Aarau conceded a late equalizer in Neuchâtel and dropped two points on Thun.
After four draws in a row, Aarau failed to return to winning ways and catch up with Thun. In Neuchâtel, Brunello Iacopetta's team conceded a 1-1 equalizer in stoppage time, leaving the Aargau side four points behind the Bernese Oberland side with six rounds to go following their fifth draw in a row. The 33rd matchday will see a potentially decisive direct duel.
Nils Reichmuth was the match-winner for Thun in Nyon - as he was a week ago in the 3-0 win against Schaffhausen. The 23-year-old midfielder scored two goals against the bottom club and was again involved in two goals on Lake Geneva. Shortly before the break, he won a penalty, which captain Leonardo Bertone confidently converted. Reichmuth scored himself after 62 minutes.
Schaffhausen in free fall
At the bottom of the table, Schaffhausen are in free fall. The 3-2 defeat against Stade Lausanne-Ouchy was the fourth defeat in a row for Hakan Yakin's team. The team showed character after trailing 3-0 at the end. However, they were unable to do more than score the final goal.
