Sovereign leader Barça beat Osasuna and are now three points ahead of Real Madrid

Thanks to a commanding home win, coach Hansi Flick's team are now three points ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid. Two former Bundesliga stars scored against Osasuna.

Thanks to a home win in the catch-up game against CA Osasuna, FC Barcelona have opened up a narrow lead in the Spanish league. Ferran Torres (11th minute) and former Bundesliga stars Dani Olmo (21st penalty) and Robert Lewandowski (77th) scored for coach Hansi Flick's team in an easy 3-0 (2-0) win against the 14th-placed side. Barça are now three points ahead of Real Madrid in the table.

A small drop of bitterness: Ex-Leipzig player Olmo had to be substituted in the 28th minute, possibly due to a muscle injury. An exact diagnosis is still pending. The 26-year-old attacking player was lucky to be allowed to take another penalty after missing his first attempt. An opposing player had run into the penalty area too early.

The match against Osasuna was originally scheduled to take place on March 8, but was postponed following the unexpected death of Barcelona team doctor Carles Miñarro García just hours before kick-off. The doctor was 50 years old. "He was incredible for the team and the club, he was an essential part of our team," said Flick.
