Kane and DIaz score Bayern Munich beat Leverkusen to reach the DFB Cup final

After the championship title, the next success on the way to a possible treble follows: Bayern Munich advances safely to the DFB Cup final at Bayer Leverkusen.

FC Bayern Munich has reached the final of the DFB Cup. Three days after prematurely winning their 35th German championship, the Munich team beat Bayer Leverkusen 2:0 (1:0) in the semi-final. The record champions will now face VfB Stuttgart or SC Freiburg in the final at Berlin's Olympic Stadium on May 23.

In front of 32,500 spectators in the sold-out Leverkusen Arena, Harry Kane (22nd minute) and Luis Díaz (90.+4) scored the goals for Munich.

The visitors dominated the game from the outset with their high pressing. Leverkusen did not create a single scoring chance in the first half. The fact that Bayern did not take a bigger lead into the break was also due to some strong saves by Mark Flekken. Despite better offensive actions and the first chance in the 52nd minute, Leverkusen largely continued to chase the ball against powerful visitors. Further strong saves from Flekken kept the game open for a long time, but Bayer 04 were no longer able to counter the superior Bavarians.
