Young Boys' run is halted after three wins in a row. The Bernese lost 0:1 against bottom of the table Winterthur of all teams.

He came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute and scored the winner two minutes later: Matteo Di Giusto was the man of the match with his long-range shot. As in the first game of the season against St. Gallen, the 24-year-old secured victory for Winterthur. It was the fourth win of the season, the fourth on the Schützenwiese at home and the fourth with a 1-0 scoreline.

And the win was well deserved. The home team did more for the game overall and also had the better chances. In the first half in particular, the home strikers repeatedly made dangerous appearances in the opposition penalty area, but lacked coolness at the decisive moment. YB goalkeeper Marvin Keller, who still stood between the posts for Winterthur last season, did not allow himself to be beaten.

Both teams came close to scoring a winner in the second half: Christian Gomis' shot from an acute angle in the 53rd minute landed on the edge of the goal, as did Lewin Blum's finish from the edge of the penalty area in the 80th minute.

And just when both teams seemed to have resigned themselves to a second 0-0 draw in a month, Di Giusto came on and scored his sixth goal of the season. It was Winterthur's first win since the beginning of November and the first under coach Uli Forte, who watched the game in the Winterthur fan block due to suspension.
