- FC Basel win the top match against FC Luzern and take over the lead of the table after the 22nd round.
- Xherdan Shaqiri scores two penalties scored by Kevin Carlos to secure a 2:1 victory.
- After the game, he explained his nerves of steel from the spot: "I analyze the goalkeepers and that's why I know where to shoot."
FC Basel fell behind early on in the duel for the top spot in the Super League against Lucerne, but did not let it get to them and won 2:1 in the end.
"We didn't get off to a perfect start. But, as always, we proved that we can turn the game around. We believe in our qualities," said match-winner Shaqiri on blue Sport after the game.
The FCB returnee, who now leads the Super League's individual rankings as the clear top scorer (11 assists and 8 goals), scored twice from the spot to take Red & Blue to the top of the table. Particularly impressive: his first penalty kick, which he casually lobs into the middle of the goal - a so-called "Panenka".
Fringer: "Standing still is difficult for a youngster"
"Every penalty is difficult," Shaqiri grins when asked about it in the interview. "But I also analyze the opponents and the goalkeepers and that's why I know where I'm shooting. Today I'm happy that they both went in and I was able to help the team."
Football expert Rolf Fringer praises Shaqiri's coolness, but defends goalkeeper Loretz on the first penalty in the blue Sport studio after the game: "It's difficult for a young goalkeeper to stop in the middle, it takes courage. A youngster jumps left or right, then you can't blame him."
