Jürgen Klopp rules out England job with clear words

Jürgen Klopp has ruled out a quick return to the coaching bench and will definitely not be England's next national team coach. The 57-year-old said this at the International Coaching Congress in Würzburg.

When asked what inquiries his advisor Marc Kosicke is currently forwarding to him, Klopp replied: "Nothing at all. Nothing at all job-wise. No club, no country. A few people must not have heard that part."

When the presenter confronted Klopp specifically with a possible interest from European Championship finalists England, the star coach said: "That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said I would make an exception for you."

Klopp has been in charge of Liverpool FC for the past nine years. Now he wants to take a year off. The job at the Three Lions is vacant after Gareth Southgate stepped down after the European Championship.

According to Klopp himself, he does not even know whether he wants to return as a coach. "I will work somewhere. I'm too young to just play padel tennis and have grandchildren. Will I be a coach again? I would actually rule that out at the moment. We'll see what it looks like in a few months' time. Nothing is coming through at the moment," said the coach, chatting casually in his shorts and unbuttoned shirt.
