Liverpool FC struggle in the derby against Everton FC, but still win. Meanwhile, a former Frankfurt player keeps Manchester City on course for the Champions League in the Premier League.

Diogo Jota has taken Liverpool FC another step closer to the English championship. The Reds defeated local rivals Everton FC 1:0 (0:0) in the Premier League's Merseyside derby. The Portuguese scored the decisive goal after 57 minutes. The win means Liverpool retain their twelve-point lead over Arsenal FC, who had already beaten Fulham FC 2:1 on Tuesday, with eight matchdays remaining in the season.

Although the hosts were the dominant team at Anfield Road, they had to survive a scare in the first half. Beto took advantage of a mistake by Virgil van Dijk to take a shot, but it only hit the post.

Marmoush shoots City to victory

Manchester City defended their fourth place. Omar Marmoush, who joined coach Pep Guardiola's team from Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter, made everything clear with his second goal (29') against completely harmless penultimate-placed Leicester. Jack Grealish had already scored for City.
