Manchester City have been warned ahead of their FA Cup round of 16 tie against second division side Plymouth - but are still struggling.
England's struggling champions Manchester City only narrowly avoided embarrassment in the FA Cup. Coach Pep Guardiola's team reached the quarter-finals with a 3:1 win against second-bottom Plymouth Argyle. In the previous round, the underdogs had surprisingly eliminated Liverpool FC, who are well on their way to replacing City as champions.
Maksym Talowjerow put Plymouth ahead in the 38th minute after the hosts had scored at the post throughİlkay Gündoğan. Nico O'Reilly equalized just before half-time and also gave City the lead in the 76th minute. Kevin De Bruyne (90.+1) decided the match in favour of the favourites shortly before the end, with goalscorer Erling Haaland only coming on after an hour.
