Young Boys secure a home win without any discussion. Three new signings put the Bernese side on course for a 6-1 win with their first goals.

The personnel changes in January have obviously done Young Boys good. Suddenly the ball is moving a little more for the Bernese. Sometimes a shot is deflected into the opponent's net, as with Ryan Raveloson's 2:0. Less than nine minutes had been played and the Swiss champions were already well on course for victory.

Raveloson, the Madagascan midfielder who had joined from Auxerre, was one of three new signings in Giorgio Contini's starting line-up - alongside Chris Bedia and Christian Fassnacht. Fassnacht was responsible for the first goal. The 19-time Swiss international needed just over four minutes on his return to Stadion Wankdorf to score his first Super League goal since April 2023. The attacking player, who had returned from Norwich, steered a long throw-in from Lewin Blum into the net.

The efficient start was followed by an almost consistently commanding performance with plenty of possession and occasional goalscoring opportunities. YB no longer had to seriously fear for the three points after Yverdon's Djibril Diop was shown a red card for an assault shortly before the break. Only the goal by substitute Antonio Marchesano in the 64th minute to make it 2:1 spoiled the good picture for a while. The correction was impressive: within a quarter of an hour, YB increased the lead to 5:1 through Chris Bedia (66'), Joël Monteiro (72') and Kastriot Imeri (76'). The final goal was scored by Ebrima Colley in stoppage time, who, like Bedia, was successful with a penalty.
