FC Barcelona and coach Hansi Flick are on course for the Spanish football championship. The Catalans did their duty in their home match against RCD Mallorca in the evening and won 1:0 (0:0). The decisive goal was scored by attacking player Dani Olmo in the 46th minute.

Less than 50 seconds had elapsed after the restart when the ex-Leipzig native scored from an assist by Eric Garcia. Mallorca goalkeeper Leo Roman made further saves to prevent the visitors from the Balearic vacation island from suffering a heavier defeat.

Comfortable cushion over Real

With 76 points, Barcelona's lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid is now seven points. However, the Whites have one game less to play. In two and a half weeks' time, the two football giants will go head-to-head in Barcelona.

After their successful quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund, Barça still have the chance to win their first Champions League title since 2015. For Flick's team, the semi-final will pit them against Bayern winners Inter Milan. Real Madrid have been eliminated from the Champions League.
