Ivelj grew up in a football-mad family: her father was a professional and is now a coach for the Aarau youth team, her mother was also a football coach and her younger brother plays for the FCZ youth team. Or as Ivelj says: "I learned to run with the ball." At the age of 12, she came to the training center in Biel and lived with a host family. Her father was against it, "but in the end I got my way". In 2023, Ivelj led the U17 national team to the semi-finals of the European Championship, and shortly afterwards she made her debut in the senior team under Inka Grings. She is now part of the extended squad under Pia Sundhage. She could have opted for Croatia, but she owes so much to Switzerland and wears the national team jersey with pride. Shortly before the European Championships, the high school student signed a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt and is one step closer to her goal: "I want to be one of the best in the world one day."
