Aston Villa try everything in the second leg against PSG and even win - but in the end the French side still progress to the semi-finals. An anthem mishap caused confusion before kick-off.

Paris Saint-Germain have squeezed their way into the semi-finals of the Champions League with a defeat at Aston Villa. The co-favorites for the title lost the spectacular quarter-final second leg at the English club 2:3 (2:1), but still progressed thanks to the 3:1 win from the first leg.

There was brief confusion before the match because the Europa League anthem was played instead of the Premier League anthem. Players from both teams smiled and the commentator on the broadcasting channel DAZN joked: "The stadium DJ slipped on the mixer. Oh, that's a UEFA contractual penalty."

Ex-Dortmund player Achraf Hakimi (11th minute) and Nuno Mendes (27th) gave the visitors an early lead after the music glitch. But then Youri Tielemans (34), John McGinn (55) and Ezri Konsa (57) turned the fast-paced game in favor of coach Unai Emery's team. However, Villa were unable to score again, partly because Paris were surprisingly confident after falling behind.
