Paulo Dybala is the match-winner in the second leg of the Europa League play-off against Porto. With two goals, he played a big part in the 3:2 victory and qualification for the round of 16. Two goals were not enough for Porto at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Giallorossi advance to the last 16 of the Europa League with a deserved 3-2 win. For the visitors, Stephen Eustáquio's very inappropriate sending-off was the crux of the game. Roma were the better team when outnumbered, had more possession and the better chances to score. Nevertheless, there was still a scare when Samu hit the ball against the post and missed a potential equalizer.
Substitute Pisilli seemingly put the lid on the game eight minutes before the end with a goal to make it 3:1, but as the game drew to a close, the visitors scored an own goal from Rensch. The visitors did not have another chance as Roma played out the final seconds cleverly.
The round of 16 could see an explosive "Derby della Capitale" between AS Roma and city rivals Lazio. The second possible opponent for the Romans is Spanish side Athletic Bilbao. The draw will take place tomorrow, Friday, with the round of 16 scheduled for March 6 and 13.
