Leroy Sané narrowly missed out on victory with Galatasaray in a heated Istanbul derby. The 29-year-old German international put his team 1:0 ahead in the 27th minute with a deflected shot after a strong individual performance. However, local rivals Fenerbahçe equalized in stoppage time.
Another scene also caused discussion. After Sané's goal, his team-mate Kazimcan Karatas was hit on the head by an object. The game was temporarily interrupted.
The draw means Galatasaray remain top of the table. Fenerbahce, coached by Domenico Tedesco, are one point behind in second place.
