Grasshoppers and Young Boys draw 3-3 in a wild game at Zurich's Letzigrund. Chris Bedia saves a point for Bern with a last-minute penalty.

Young Boys are currently playing their Letzigrund week. On Sunday, they secured a fortunate 3-2 win at FC Zurich, but four days later they were unable to secure another three points at the same venue against Grasshoppers. At the end of a wild game, the score was 3:3.

However, for a long time it did not look like Giorgio Contini's team would be able to leave Zurich with anything worthwhile. The Bernese were 2-0 down after 25 minutes. Simone Stroscio with a shot from an acute angle and Oscar Clemente with a well-placed finish from distance got Gerald Scheiblehner's team off to a dream start.

And the Austrian's team did not allow themselves to be rattled by Sergio Cordova's almost immediate follow-up goal and were closer to a third goal than Young Boys were to an equalizer. However, the equalizer came after just over an hour when Christian Fassnacht, after a pass from Bedia, found himself alone in front of Justin Hammel, who had no chance of defending.

YB come back while short-handed

In Jonathan Asp-Jensen, the Grasshoppers have an exceptionally talented player in their ranks, and the loanee from Bayern Munich seemed to have shot Zurich into fortune after 74 minutes with his shot. All the more so when Tanguy Zoukrou committed an assault shortly afterwards and was sent off with a red card.

But after a foul, Chris Bedia made the most of what was probably Bern's last golden chance to score from eleven meters. Young Boys, who have only picked up two points in their last four games against GC, will probably be relatively satisfied with this point, especially as a second Bernese player, Saidy Janko, was sent to the showers with a second yellow card in stoppage time.

Nevertheless, Contini's team would certainly have preferred to go into Sunday's prestigious clash against FC Basel with three points.
