Bayern Munich remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga. The champions secured a 3-0 win against Mönchengladbach, who were decimated early on, in the final half-hour.
"Bayern Munich experienced a game in Mönchengladbach that required a lot of patience. Despite only playing with ten men from the 19th minute and the red card against Jens Castrop, the bottom club held their own with Nico Elvedi in defense until the 64th minute. After that, Joshua Kimmich, Raphaël Guerreiro and 17-year-old Lennart Karl scored to secure their 13th win in 13 games this season."
The highlight of the game was the 3-0 scoreline from Karl, who gave a further demonstration of his talent with a curling shot five minutes after coming on as a substitute. Since his promotion to the Bayern Munich first team in the summer, the home-grown talent has been astonishing. Three days ago, he became the youngest German scorer in the Champions League with his goal against FC Brugge.
Leipzig, who celebrated a thumping 6-0 victory in Augsburg, remain five points behind Bayern. The debacle for the hosts, who started with Fabian Rieder, was announced early on. Augsburg were 4-0 down after just 22 minutes. In the end, six different scorers from Leipzig's excellent counter-attacking side ensured Augsburg's heaviest home defeat in the Bundesliga. Gregor Kobel keeps a clean sheet for the fifth time in eight league games in Dortmund's 1-0 win over Cologne.
