Servette beat Winterthur 3-1 at home thanks to late goals from unexpected scorers to stay ahead in the Super League.

Servette coach Thomas Häberli made the decisive changes shortly after the 0:1. Luca Zuffi had given the bottom club the lead with a penalty in the 63rd minute, forcing Häberli into action. Alioune Ndoye, the new Senegalese signing, and Keyan Varela, the 18-year-old Portuguese youngster from the club's own ranks, came onto the pitch and became the match-winners.

Ndoye scored his first goal in the Super League with his head in the 69th minute after a short corner kick and a feed from Timothé Cognat, followed by a second deep into stoppage time when he made it 3:1 with a penalty. In between, Varela scored with a low shot in the 89th minute.

The Servettien were thus able to secure their budgeted home win late on, which seemed to be slipping away from them as both Winterthur goalkeepers shone. Stefanos Kapino saved a penalty from Jérémy Guillemenot in the first half before having to make way for his replacement Markus Kuster after the break. The latter made a strong save to keep out a deflected shot immediately before the 1:0.
