A win in Lausanne would have taken YB to the top of the Super League table. But the Bernese are light years away from that - they went down 5-0.
"We certainly don't need to talk about leading the table when we put in a performance like that. We're messing up the whole week again, which was actually positive. Right now, it's really inexplicable," said a visibly disappointed Sandro Lauper after the 5-0 defeat in Lausanne.
Christian Fassnacht is also at a loss: "We had two extremely good games and arrived with a good feeling and wanted to climb to first place. But everything went wrong today." He doesn't believe it was down to attitude. "You could have played on for five hours today and not scored a goal and it felt like you got another 20." Going into the international break with a bad feeling is "always a horror", Fassnacht admits.
YB captain Loris Benito doesn't understand why his team wasn't prepared to throw everything into it. His conclusion: "It was a very poor performance from A to Z."
The mood in the Lausanne camp is of course completely different. Coach Peter Zeidler is delighted with the victory and proud of his team's performance.
