  • Young Boys record their third win in a row against FC St.Gallen and move up to third place in the table, at least for one night.
  • Darian Males is substituted at the break against the Espen and takes less than two minutes to set up Christian Fassnacht's winning goal.
  • "This assist is awesome," said blue Sport expert Dani Gygax. Alex Frei is also amazed by the move.

Darian Males is substituted by YB coach Giorgio Contini against FC St.Gallen at the break after a goalless first half. And the joker needed less than two minutes to set up the winning goal for his team-mate Christian Fassnacht.

After a cross from Virginius, Males does not shoot directly from a promising position, but takes the ball and has the eye for Fassnacht, who knows exactly who to thank.

"Incredibly helpful to the team"

"Normally you head at goal here. But he takes the ball calmly. It's amazing. He did an outstanding job, his first action," commented expert Dani Gygax enthusiastically. "This assist is awesome."

Alex Frei is also amazed in the blue Sport Studio. "Incredibly team-oriented from Males. He makes another pass where not every attacking player would play back," says Frei, referring to himself, for example. Laughing, he explains: "I once learned that there are no friends in the sixteen."

Males: "The idea came to me first"

Males himself said in an interview after the match: "I have to be honest, I didn't think about it much. (...) The idea of taking the ball came to me first. Then the ball was relatively high. I saw Fasi in the corner of my eye and put the ball over."

After the third win in a row, YB jumped to third place in the table, at least temporarily, and continued their race to catch up. "It was clear to everyone that we have the quality and have a very good team," says Males when asked about this and declares war on the competition: "We want to prove to everyone again that we actually belong where we are now."
