Luca Schätti and Thomas Litscher celebrated a double victory in the short track category at the European Mountain Bike Championships in Melgaço, Portugal.

With Dario Lillo (5th) and Fabio Püntener (9th), the Swiss Cycling team achieved two more top ten places in this cross-country race. The women were similarly successful with 2nd and 3rd place for Nicole Koller and Linda Indergand.
The European Championships, whose prestige is not too high, will be better attended by the Swiss team this year than ever before. With a view to the home World Championships in Crans-Montana in September, where the limited number of starting places represents a high hurdle, every result is important.
