The French basketball team qualifies for the Olympic final for the second time in a row. The hosts beat world champions Germany 73:69 in the first semi-final.
In the prestigious duel against their neighbors, the French thus gained revenge for their clear defeat in the group phase (71:85). In front of 15,000 euphoric spectators, they also overcame a false start and a ten-point deficit after just a few minutes (2:12).
Their opponents in the final on Saturday (9.30 p.m.) will either be the record Olympic champions USA with superstar LeBron James or the World Championship runners-up Serbia with Nikola Jokic. Three years ago in Tokyo, the USA won the Olympic basketball tournament for the fourth time in a row and for the 16th time overall with an 87-82 victory over France in the final.
