Fribourg-Gottéron will take part in the Spengler Cup in the week of the old year. The Davos OC announces the defending champions as the third of six teams alongside HC Davos and Team Canada.

Roger Rönnberg, a prominent coach, is also returning to Davos. The Swede, who was twice champion and four-time Champions League winner with Frölunda Göteborg, will take over as coach of Fribourg-Gottéron in the summer. Rönnberg knows the Spengler Cup inside out - he took part with Frölunda in 2023.

This will be Fribourg-Gottéron's fourth participation in the traditional tournament. After finishing fifth in 1992 and reaching the semi-finals in 2012, the big triumph followed in 2024.
