Tyson Fury, former world heavyweight champion, celebrated a successful comeback on Saturday 476 days after his last professional fight to date.

The 37-year-old Briton defeated Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov unanimously on points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London. Fury celebrated the 35th win of his career in his 38th professional fight. Both of his previous defeats came against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, most recently in December 2024.
As soon as the fight was over, Fury took the microphone and said: "Now I want to give you the fight you've all been waiting for. I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua. Let's give the boxing fans what they want: the Battle of Britain. I challenge you, Anthony Joshua, to fight me, the Gypsy King, in my next fight."
Joshua was basically open to the challenge, but did not definitively confirm a possible commitment. A duel between the two heavyweights has been discussed several times in the past, but has never materialized due to various circumstances.
