Leonardo Genoni stops Geneva's goal machine and leads EV Zug to a 1-0 away win at Servette in Thursday's only National League game.
Genève-Servette had scored 13 times in the last five days against Biel (6-0) and leaders Davos (7-0) and had not conceded a goal themselves. Coach Ville Peltonen's team also showed their good form against EV Zug, especially in the first two periods, but Genève-Servette had their teeth bitten out by Genoni. The 38-year-old goalie earned his third shutout of the season with 25 saves.
The only goal of the game was scored by Canadian defenseman Jesse Graham in the 6th minute on the power play, ending goalie Stéphane Charlin's unbeaten streak. In total, Servette had gone 170 minutes without conceding a goal in the championship.
Zug leapfrogged Genève-Servette to 4th place in the table.
