Former Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas is taking on a key role at Team Ineos: the 39-year-old Welshman, who ended his active career in the fall, has been appointed race director.

In this role, Thomas will support and advise the team's professionals and shape them with his many years of experience. The Brit has repeatedly impressed on Swiss terrain during his career: he won the Tour de Romandie in 2021 and the Tour de Suisse a year later - successes that cemented his reputation as a complete tour rider.
