Two-time Grand Tour winner Simon Yates announced his retirement from professional cycling on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old Brit from the Visma-Lease a Bike team won the Tour of Spain in 2018 and the Giro d'Italia last year. Adam Yates' twin brother also took three stage wins at the Tour de France, which he finished in fourth place in 2023. Simon Yates began his career in track cycling. He won world championship gold in the points race in Minsk in 2013.
