Nico Hischier, the captain of the New Jersey Devils, scored a goal for the fourth game in a row. It was the winning goal in the 5-0 win in Buffalo. The center, who also won two-thirds of his face-offs, scored in the 13th minute after an assist from his Swiss teammate Timo Meier. The Devils won their third game in a row and are currently the best team in the NHL.

Philipp Kurashev also played a decisive role in his team's victory on Saturday night. The Bern native recorded an assist on Adam Gaudette's decisive 3:2 goal in the 36th minute against the Vancouver Canucks. Pius Suter did the same with the St. Louis Blues. He set up the winning goal ten minutes before the end in the 4:3 win against the Ottawa Senators.

Kevin Fiala was among the goalscorers, but in the end the Los Angeles Kings lost for the fourth time in the last five games. Fiala scored in the 31st minute to make it 2:1, but in the end the Kings lost the derby against the Anaheim Ducks 4:5 on penalties after leading 4:2. Fiala also failed to score in the shootout, although he was named the third-best player of the game.

Akira Schmid did not have his best evening. The Vegas Golden Knights goalie saved only 15 of 18 shots (83.3 percent) in the 4-1 loss in Montreal.

Roman Josi and the Nashville Predators managed one win (4:3 in Chicago). Nevertheless, the team from the state of Tennessee remains the worst team in the league. Among the winners was Lian Bichsel with the Dallas Stars (4:3 against Utah).

The Winnipeg Jets with Nino Niederreiter have had a difficult season so far. Last year's qualifying winners lost 5-1 in Carolina for the third time in a row and are currently outside the playoff places.
