The 25-year-old from Schwyz finished 10th in the sprint.

Like French winner Emilien Jacquelin and two other competitors ahead of him, Hartweg made no mistakes at the shooting range, but he was still 20 seconds off the podium after the ten kilometers.

Joscha Burkhalter also put himself in a good starting position for the pursuit on Saturday in 21st place. Sebastian Stalder (47th) just made it into the top 50, unlike Arnaud du Pasquier and Dajan Danuser.

Jacquelin, the French 2020 and 2021 World Champion in the pursuit, came out on top in the first race after the World Championships in Lenzerheide by around 20 seconds ahead of Italy's Tommaso Giacomel and Norway's Johannes Thingnes Bö.
