Haussener/Friedli defeated the Italians Samuele Cottafava and Gianluca Dal Corso 23:21, 21:17 in the match for the final podium place at the event in the second-highest category of the Pro Tour after the Elite16 tournaments.
The player from Basel and the player from Aargau are now the second Swiss team after Marco Krattiger and Leo Dillier to secure their place at the World Championships in Adelaide, which begin in mid-November.
