The Devils Swiss played a leading role in the evenly balanced duel. Timo Meier scored the 2:2 in overtime and gave compatriot Nico Hischier the assist in the 3:3. While Meier has eight goals after 25 appearances, it was Hischier's 14th goal in his 26th game of the season. The 25-year-old captain is thus the franchise's top scorer and ranks 6th in the league in the goal statistics.

Pius Suter is also one of the most prolific scorers in his team. In the away game against the Buffalo Sabres, the Vancouver Canucks forward scored his eighth goal of the season. After a blocked shot, the Swiss started the counter-attack and scored for a 3:1 lead. The Canucks had to give it back, but still managed to win 4:3 in overtime.

Roman Josi now has seven goals for the season. The Nashville Predators defenceman even scored two goals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but was still unable to celebrate in the end. Instead, Janis Moser celebrated on the other side, as the visitors won 3:2 after overtime.
