Nico Hischier and Timo Meier lead New Jersey out of a brief slump.
With a goal and an assist each, they laid the foundation for the 4:3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings and thus stopped the streak of three defeats.
The three points catapulted New Jersey back into the top group of the Eastern Conference. At the same time, Hischier and Meier move to the top of the Swiss scorers list in the NHL. Hischier is in first place with 18 points (7 goals/11 assists), closely followed by Meier with 17 points (7/10). Kevin Fiala, who was also on the ice on Tuesday night and celebrated a 2:1 victory over the Ottawa Senators with the Los Angeles Kings, remained without a scoring point and still has 16 points (9/7).
Nashville loses despite Josi assist
Roman Josi made an appearance as a passer. But the Nashville Predators captain has little reason to be happy at the moment. In the second game after his injury break, his team once again had no chance and conceded a clear 3:8 defeat against the Florida Panthers. As a result, Nashville slipped to the bottom of the Western Conference table.
Akira Schmid took a seat on the bench for the Vegas Golden Knights. His goalie colleague Carl Lindbom did not use the opportunity to promote his own cause. He conceded three goals in the 5-1 defeat against the Utah Mammoth - the last two goals were scored into the empty net.
Pius Suter lost 3-2 away to the New York Rangers with the St. Louis Blues, while Janis Moser celebrated a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers with the Tampa Bay Lightnings.
