The Vegas Golden Knights have been tied 1-1 in the NHL playoff quarter-finals against the Anaheim Ducks. The team from Nevada, again without Akira Schmid, lost 0:3.

Two days after the 3:1, the Golden Knights were beaten by an opponent against whom they had already lost all three games in the regular season. The defeat at their home arena near the Vegas Strip ended a run of four wins in these playoffs.

The Ducks, who are back in the decisive phase of the championship for the first time in eight years, owe the equalizer in the best-of-7 series primarily to two young players. The 20-year-old Canadian Beckett Sennecke, who is playing his first season in the NHL, put the visitors in front midway through the second period, and the Swede Leo Carlsson, who is a year older, increased the lead to 2-0 after just over six minutes in the third period.

American Jansen Harkins made it 3-0 three and a half minutes before the end with a shot into the empty net. Sennecke's compatriot Mark Stone scored the only goal for the Golden Knights six seconds before the end on the power play.

Goaltender Akira Schmid was once again not part of the Golden Knights' line-up. It has been almost seven weeks since the Seelander's last appearance.
