The newly formed beach volleyball duo beat Italy's Valentina Gottardi/Claudia Scampoli in the final of the Challenge tournament on the Mexican peninsula of Yucatan.
The Olympic bronze medalist from the canton of Schwyz and the young player from the Bernese Oberland clearly won 21:17, 21:15 and did not concede a set from the quarter-finals onwards. Challenge tournaments are the second-highest level of the World Tour.
A Swiss duo also reached the men's final. There, Yves Haussener and Julian Friedli will face the Czechs Ondrej Perusic/David Schweiner late on Sunday evening.
