The gelding Ideo du Thot, who won the 2007 World Cup Final in Las Vegas together with Beat Mändli, has been put to sleep at the age of 29, as reported by the specialist newspaper "Pferdewoche".
The show jumper was one of the most influential four-legged horses of his era. After an outstanding sporting career, Ideo du Thot spent another 14 years in retirement at his home stud "Elevage du Thot" in Normandy - in good health and in familiar surroundings. He shared his final years at the stud with other prominent horses, including Steve Guerdat's Olympic gold medal horse Nino des Buissonnets and the gray Clooney, who carried Martin Fuchs to the European Championship title.
